Kenya Film Commission To Partner With Indian Film Festival

On 17th April 2019, Kenya Film Commission CEO Mr Timothy Owase hosted Capt. Rahul Bali from the Indian Film Festival Worldwide to discuss collaboration in the upcoming Indian Film Festival set for 10 – 15th August 2019 in Nairobi.

The discussion also included co-production opportunities between Kenya and India, creation of a linkage between actors and also cooperation between the film commissions in the two countries.

Forming part of the festival will be screening of selected films, roundtable conferences, cocktails and dinner as well as sight-seeing for filmmakers during the five days of the event.

The key objective of this festival is to create and foster a conversation around the impact of filmmaking on tourism in Kenya and India. It focuses on highlighting new locations for film production in both countries and as a result boost tourism in the countries.

Indian Film Festival Worldwide (IFFW) celebrates the imaginative, educational, and historical importance of motion pictures. It gives independent film artists a platform for sharing their work and creating a dialogue with the community. It introduces audiences to innovative new films and past masterworks of cinema.

IFFW is an organization devoted to a greater appreciation of Indian cinema and culture by showcasing films, supporting emerging filmmakers, recognizing the leadership of entertainment industry performers, business executives, and promoting the diverse perspectives of the Indian diaspora.
