Kenya Film Commission Stakeholder Engagement at KCA University’s 3rd Innovation Week & Industry Summit

The Kenya Film Commission was a proud participant in KCA University’s 3rd edition of the Innovation Week and Industry Summit, held from October 29th to 31st, 2024. The annual event brings together leaders from the fields of research, technology, business, and the creative arts to explore innovative ideas, exchange knowledge, and foster collaborations.

As part of its commitment to supporting and promoting the growth of the creative industry in Kenya, the Kenya Film Commission played a key role throughout the three-day event. Alongside other notable organizations such as Cameras Africa, Canon, the Communications Authority of Kenya, Indomie, Safaricom, Tropical Heat, Peptang, Coca-Cola, Cooperative Bank of Kenya, KASNEB, and BF Suma, the Commission contributed to various discussions and activities designed to inform, inspire, and engage both students and industry professionals.

Throughout the event, exhibitors participated in interactive exchanges, answering questions from KCA University students and visitors who toured their booths. These sessions allowed attendees to gain deeper insights into various sectors, while also providing opportunities to learn about products and services from across industries.

The event concluded on October 31st, 2024, with keynote speeches from Dr. Robi Mbugua Njoroge, CEO of the Anti-Counterfeit Authority, and Mr. Timothy Owase, CEO of the Kenya Film Commission. Mr. Owase, in his speech, urged all stakeholders—from government to private sector—to unite in nurturing and inspiring the next generation of filmmakers, storytellers, and artists. He emphasized the importance of building a vibrant, sustainable ecosystem for the creative industry, one that will not only drive economic growth but also contribute to positive social change.
