For Immediate Release Kenya Film Commission Postpones Kalasha International Tv & Film Market 12th March 2020

NAIROBI, KENYA…. Kenya Film Commission hereby pushes forward this years’ Kalasha International TV & Film Market to a date that will be announced upon the expiry of the 30 days embargo on events attracting international participants. This is part of measures taken to deter the spread of the global pandemic – Corona Virus. The directive by the government is a precautionary measure and a strategy aimed at building surveillance at all border points and to prepare the country for any outbreak of the virus.

This is a 3-day trade fair showcasing filming activities and offering a high level interaction through conferences, workshops, business-to-business opportunities and pitching sessions. We have already received confirmation from local and international participants, speakers and exhibitors.

The event was set to take place from 1st – 3rd April 2020 at KICC in Nairobi.

“The Commission wishes to reassure its stakeholders and partners that the event will be held at a future date to be communicated soon as we continue to monitor the situation while consulting with the other relevant government agencies on the matter”, notes KFC CEO Timothy Owase.
