Championing Creativity and Technology at KCA University 4th Innovation Summit

The KFC joined innovators, students, and industry leaders at the 4th KCA University Innovation Week & Industry Summit, a three-day event held from 4th to 6th November 2025 at KCA University’s Thika Road campus.

The summit brought together minds from academia and film industry to explore the intersection of creativity, technology, and innovation, while inspiring the next generation of storytellers to shape Kenya’s future through film.

Amid the buzz of ideas and collaboration, the Commission made a strong impression, highlighting how film and creativity continue to influence Kenya’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem by way of exhibition attracting a steady stream of students, lecturers, and creative entrepreneurs eager to learn about the opportunities available in the local film industry.

The highlight of the summit was KFC CEO, Mr. Timothy Owase keynote address on the role of Film and Creative Arts in National Development, Industry Growth, and Cultural Preservation delving into the transformative power of storytelling and emphasizing Kenya’s creative economy as one of the country’s most dynamic and untapped forces for development.

It is the Commission’s vision to decentralize film production by developing film hubs, studios, and creative spaces across counties where every county can be a creative hub, and every young person can be a storyteller. KFC believes in deeper collaboration between creative institutions and academia, encouraging partnerships that nurture talent through mentorship, research, and innovation labs for digital media.

The Commission’s participation at the KCA University summit is a commitment to advancing creativity, building partnerships, and empowering storytellers to shape Kenya’s narrative through technology, collaboration, and innovation.
