Kenya Film Commission is currently facilitating week-long Capacity Building Workshops in various parts of the country. 50 upcoming filmmakers in Mbooni Constituency were trained in film production in a bid to empower them with skills to tell their authentic stories between 18th January and 23rd January 2021.
Area MP, Hon. Nzioka E. Kivasu, graced the opening ceremony where he reaffirmed his commitment to support the youth pursuing film production. The trainees were taken through the following sessions: Characteristics of a good story, scriptwriting, introduction to camera operations, picture composition, introduction to video editing, sound techniques, lighting, directing, among others. At the end of the workshop, the trainees were tasked to produce short films.
Starting 25th January 2021, the second workshop kicked off in Thika and a third one is set for Gatundu North in March 2021.
