Kenya Film Commission invites all practicing and upcoming filmmakers to submit their original concepts for the pitching competition; a side event at the Kalasha International TV & Film Market 2019 to stand a chance at winning half a million Kenyan shillings in each category.
Kalasha International TV & Film Market; a 3-day trade fair showcasing companies from international and East African region offering high-level interaction for trading and sharing ideas, is set to take place from 26 – 28 March 2019 at KICC in Nairobi.
The pitching competition is open to all practicing and upcoming filmmakers registered for the market. There will be dedicated rooms where selected individuals from East Africa will be given a chance to pitch a concept or project to potential investors in the following categories;
- TV Series and Soaps – Ksh 500,000
- Animation (Short or Series) – Ksh 500,000
- Film (Long Feature Film & Short Films) – Ksh 500,000
- Documentaries – Ksh 500,000
PRIZES
A winner in each of the four (4) categories will be announced during the market.
DEADLINE
The projects’ submission deadline is 20th March 2019.
Space is limited to twenty four (24) pitches, which will be selected from the pool of submissions by a specially appointed jury of experts.
