The Kenya Film Commission, in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), is here to help you cross the finish line.
This initiative is designed for Kenyan producers who have already laid the groundwork for an international co-production. We want to provide partial funding that will elevate your project, whether it’s securing key resources, enhancing production value, or facilitating the cross-border collaboration required to create something truly spectacular. This is your chance to strengthen your creative ties with the global film industry and showcase your unique Kenyan story on the world stage.
What We Will Create Together
Our mission is to select two outstanding co-production projects and provide them with partial funding support needed to move forward with confidence. This is more than just a grant; it’s a high-impact investment in your established partnership. We aim to help you showcase rich, diverse and co-created narratives on a global platform by supporting the exchange of knowledge, skills, and resources that your co-production facilitates. The Kenya Film Commission and the organizing parties will not claim any rights for the projects supported.

Who We Are Looking For
This call is for established Kenyan production companies with a credible track record who have already forged a partnership with an international producer for a specific film project. The international producer can be registered in any country outside Kenya and needs to bring in own funding. We are searching for coproducer teams which are ready to champion authentic Kenyan stories while maximizing the creative potential of their international collaboration.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable film industry. We strongly encourage applications for projects that prioritize gender equity and represent diverse voices and perspectives, both on-screen and behind the camera.
Key Dates
- Application Deadline: 20th November 2025
- Announcement of Selected Projects: 1st December 2025
- Project Deadline: All agreed project milestones must be completed no later than 31st March 2026.
