KENYA FILM COMMISSION PARTNERS WITH MAU MAU ARTS IN AN ACTING MASTERCLASS

Kenya Film Commission has partnere with mau Mau Arts to conduct a masterclass in acting. This masterclass will be facilitated by Ms Susan Goodwillie on 14th February 2020 from 9am to 4pm.

Ms Susan holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Canergie Mellon University. Susan made her Off-Broadway debut in Mourning Becomes Electra. On ttelevsion she has appeared on Medium and ER.

NAIROBI SET TO HOST DESIGN INDABA SIMULCAST

Design Indaba Festival, is an annual multidisciplinary event held in Cape Town, South Africa and is a highly anticipated event on the creative calendar. Having established itself internationally as one of the premier multidisciplinary design programs in the world, it consistently draws the globe’s luminaries to its stage. But it’s not just inspiration for inspiration’s sake that the conference advocates; with a better world through creativity’ as their guiding principle, founder Ravi Naidoo and his team have continually shown their commitment to positive change through design-led thinking.

Design Indaba 2020 celebrates a momentous milestone in the conference’s legacy, its 25th anniversary. In line with this powerful impetus, they’ve created a legacy for including speakers in the programme whose work seeks to better the world we live in – whether through technological advances, environmental advocacy, or simply social change that fosters healthier communities.

This year the speakers at the conference are: Debbie Millman, Hanif Kara, Honey & Bunny, Ibrahim Mahama, Kinya Tagawa, Natsai Chieza, Neri & Hu, Nhlanhla Mahlangu, Patrick Thomas, Sascha Lobe, Studio Drift and Sunny Dolat. The conference has a rich history of Kenyan speakers, including Studio Propolis, Patricia Kihoro, Osborne Macharia, Wanuri Kahiu, Mark Kamau and Blinky Bill.

Over the years the conference has been broadcasted live to various cities including Johannesburg, Durban, Windhoek, Kampala and Lausanne. This year it will be live streamed in Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Potchefstroom and Nairobi (for the first time). The 2020 iteration of the conference will bring to the stage the creative optimism and activism people have come to expect from the flagship platform, such as its ensemble cast of acclaimed speakers, spanning the disciplines of design and innovation.

The audience is expected to draw from a wide range of design disciplines and industries such as architecture, interior design, urban design, art, photography, activism, fashion, film, graphics, music, engineering and many more.
