Burkina Faso is set to host the 27th Edition of Pan-African film and television Festival of Ouagadougou (Fespaco) from October 16th to 23rd of this year.
Fespaco, which is a biennial event, is a platform for film competition and opportunity to promote, distribute and carry forward cinema from Africa and its diaspora. Happening every odd-numbered year, Fespaco brings together professionals and non-professionals from across the world to celebrate cinema from Africa.
Seventeen feature-length films have been chosen from among 1,132 entries for the festival’s main competition, vying for the Golden Stallion of Yennenga for best film.
This year’s event is a challenge to show that despite the health situation, the continent continues to create, dream and be able to confront the ills that hit our societies.
