Little did Shiko (Catherine Kamau) knew that by helping out her best friend, Aisha (Mumbi Maina) and becoming her surrogate to save her marriage, will lead to a series of events that threaten their close bond and those around them.
Written and directed by Reuben Odanga (Selina), Nafsi, a new romantic drama is set to hit cinema screens on 6th November 2021. This is Odanga’s debut feature, a major shift from the Swahili telenovelas he’s popularly known for such as Nira, Nuru, Saida and multi – Kalasha Award winner Selina.
Nafsi – a production of Multan Production Limited, owned by Odanga, also features Alfred Munyua known for his roles in Crime and Justice and Sense8.
Described as real and simple film, Mumbi comments that Nafsi is a deeply moving story that touches on a sensitive topic that is rarely spoken about not only in film but in African culture. Catherine has also added that it is a ‘thought-provoking film’ that she couldn’t pass on.
